TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – On Monday, Florida’s agricultural commissioner shared results from Operation Safe Summer – a statewide sweep of illegal hemp products.
Commissioner Wilton Simpson said over 150,000 illegal packages have been taken off the shelves over five weeks to ensure shops in Florida are following strict rules in developing child-resistant packaging.

About a month ago, over 800 hemp products were pulled from the shelves of Tallulah smoke shop in Tallahassee as part of the operation.
Tallulah’s CEO said the manufacturers of their products may not understand the new Florida laws, and says they are working with them to get compliant with state standards.
