On Monday, Aug.18, Ellen Pitt of the Western North Carolina Driving While Impaired Task Force, along with Jean Harris of Nurses Against Drunk Driving, made a stop by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. They thanked the officers for their work and advocacy for the safety of children, driving home the message that drivers who disregard stopped school buses, exceed speed limits, or drive while impaired, will face fines and a possible trip to the county jail.
