CASA GRANDE, AZ (AZFamily) — Casa Grande police said 10 people were arrested over the weekend during a string of operations aimed at targeting child sex predators.
According to the department, several law enforcement agencies joined in the sting, as undercover agents posed as children to identify and arrest those seeking to sexually exploit children and underage teens.
The two-day operation, which happened Saturday and Sunday, ended with 10 arrests on 29 related felony charges. Police have not identified any of the suspects involved.
“This successful luring operation is a testament to detailed planning, investigative expertise, and the unwavering commitment of our officers and collaborating partners to keep Arizona communities safer from those who prey on our children,” said Casa Grande Police Chief Mark McCrory.
In addition to sex crimes, police also recommended additional charges, including weapons misconduct and drug possession, against several suspects. Multiple guns were also seized.
“This operation reaffirms our department’s commitment to being proactive in our efforts to keep our community and some of its most vulnerable safe from predators like those arrested this weekend. I am extremely proud of the professionalism and dedication of everyone involved and look forward to hosting future operations,” McCrory added.
