BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) —
The Idaho Senate met today for a second reading of HB724, after it was reported out of committee with a Do Pass Recommendation on Friday. The Foster Child Safety Act was advanced to a third reading, positioning the bill for final debate and a vote in the Senate.
Lawmakers are also expected to take up additional foster care legislation this week. Benji’s Law (HB776) is set for further deliberation and is expected to be heard in the House Health and Welfare Committee on Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, Isaiah’s Law (SB1257) advanced through the House Health and Welfare Committee last Friday. The bill focuses on strengthening court guidance related to visitation and child safety in cases involving abuse.
