An illegal immigrant from El Salvador has been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Virginia after serving an 18-month sentence for sexually assaulting a child.

Jose Navarro Henriquez was first arrested by the Herndon Police Department in 2024, where he faced charges for a slew of sex crimes, according to ICE. The charges included:

  • Carnal knowledge of a child between ages 13 and 14 (Carnal knowledge is a legal term for sexual activity.)
  • Incest with a child
  • Aggravated sexual battery
  • Sexual abuse as a custodian
  • Solicitation of prostitution from a child

Navarro Henriquez was only convicted of two counts of carnal knowledge of a child by the Fairfax County Circuit Court on Sept. 15, 2025.

The judge in that case sentenced him to five years in prison for each count, but had the sentences run concurrently and suspended three years and six months.

Navarro Henriquez was never prosecuted by Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano on seven other charges.

ICE arrested him after he was released from the Nottoway Correctional Center in Burkeville on Feb. 17. He will remain in custody until he is removed from the U.S.
