Myrtle Creek and Winston police arrest five in online predator sting operation | #childpredator | #onlinepredator | #sextrafficing


On Thursday, Dec. 18, the Myrtle Creek and Winston police departments joined forces to conduct a day-long operation targeting online predators.

In the weeks leading up to the operation, officers were able to identify several suspects both local to Douglas County and from out of county.

The team made five arrests on the day of the operation.

William Joseph Manly, 44, of Grants Pass, was arrested for Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First and Second Degree, as well as Luring a Minor. Manly was also charged with a Parole Violation.

Joshua James Taylor, also of Grants Pass, was arrested for Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First and Second degree and was also charged with Luring a Minor.

Patrick William Terriah, 36, of Roseburg, was arrested and charged with Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the Second Degree and Luring a Minor.

Wyat Hugh Cahill, 24, of Klamath Falls, was arrested and charged with Luring a Minor.

Finally, David Carl Thorpe, 60, of Sutherlin, was arrested for Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First and Second Degree, as well as Luring a Minor. During his arrest, he was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was additionally charged with that.

All five were lodged at the Douglas County Jail on their respective charges.

The Myrtle Creek and Winston Police Departments thanked the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety and the Klamath Falls Police Department for their assistance in carrying out this operation.
