Khan was arrested after police intercepted a meeting he’d arranged with someone to help him carry out his ‘disgusting plan’
A child predator was caught with almost 1,000 indecent images before he planned on striking in person.
Adam Khan, aged 30, had sought a child to sexually abuse.
West Midlands Police (WMP) discovered he’d been interacting with others online to find a child victim to carry out his ‘disgusting plan’.

Officers established Khan was meeting with someone he believed could arrange for this to happen.
But WMP intercepted this meeting and arrested Khan in Great Barr in July last year.
Detectives discovered almost 1,000 indecent images and videos of children after seizing his digital devices.
There was further evidence he’d also distributed images of children.
Khan later pleaded guilty to arranging or facilitating the rape of a child under the age of 13 and distribution of indecent images between June and July last year.
The 30-year-old, from Great Barr, was jailed for nine years and six months at Birmingham Crown Court last Wednesday, March 18.

Detective Sergeant Nick McCullogh, from the Force Priorities Team, said: “Khan was intent on meeting a child who he could sexually abuse.
“We were able to stop his disgusting plan, and uncover the full extent of his offending, to ensure he has been sent to jail for many years.”
