BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – Four men have been arrested after a child predator sting operation, according to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office.
The Blount County Sheriff’s Office says the undercover sting operation targeted online child predators and is part of an ongoing commitment to protecting the children of their county.
Authorities say the operation was conducted over multiple days. Investigators engaged with suspects who believed they were communicating with minors for the purpose of committing sexual acts. When these suspects arrived to meet the “child”, they were instead taken into custody without any incident.
Four men were arrested and booked into the Blount County Jail:
- Stephen King, 43, of Blountsville, is charged with traveling to meet a child to perform a sexual act, electronic solicitation and human trafficking.
- Kelly Blansit, 56, of Bremen, is charged with human trafficking, traveling to meet a child to perform a sexual act and electronic solicitation.
- Thomas Bryant, 37, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, is charged with human trafficking, traveling to meet a child to perform a sexual act and electronic solicitation.
- Bradley Migues, 36, of Ashville, is charged with traveling to meet a child to perform a sexual act and electronic solicitation.
Blount County Sheriff Mark Moon, following the operation and arrests, said, “Our children are among our most vulnerable, and we will use every resource available to identify, track, and arrest individuals who attempt to exploit them. These operations send a clear message: if you target a child in Blount County, we will find you, and we will arrest you.”
The sheriff’s office confirmed they will continue to conduct proactive operations like this one and encourage parents to stay engaged in their children’s online activity.
