Altitude Cyber’s Domenic Perri on Why AI-Native Security Startups Draw Record Deals
Agentic artificial intelligence is solving one of cybersecurity’s most stubborn problems: alert fatigue. With roughly half of all SOC alerts going unreviewed, AI-driven autonomous systems are emerging as the fastest path from reactive defense to real-time threat response, said Domenic Perri, co-founder and partner at Altitude Cyber.

That transition has fueled a wave of investor conviction. Perri said AI-native startups, built from scratch in the current threat era, without legacy architecture, are attracting outsized bets from investors.
“Investors view these new AI security companies as potentially the next Wiz or the next CrowdStrike. They are born in this new era, solving new problems in AI that could represent new categories or even a new platform,” Perri said.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSAC Conference 2026, Perri also discussed:
- Why 2025 was a record-breaking year for cybersecurity M&A, funding and valuations;
- Which sectors, including identity security, data security and next-gen SIEM, will draw the most M&A and investor attention in 2026;
- Why strategic buyers view AI-native acquisitions as a way to signal market commitment to customers.
Perri partners with cybersecurity founders, boards and investors on strategic business development, partnerships and long-term exit planning. A former venture investor focused on cybersecurity and AI, he has led strategy, partnerships and M&A at global tech leaders and high-growth startups, helping founders build enduring companies.
