SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – A Sparks man has been sentenced to 23 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing multiple children.
Judge Miranda Du sentenced Angel Fernandez for sexually abusing four Native American children on the Reno Sparks Indian Colony, as well as two other children.
The DOJ says that Fernandez abused the children from 2004 until 2022, and that the abuse continued until some reached 16 years of age.
Fernandez pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse of a minor within Indian Country and two counts of abuse of abusive sexual contact within Indian Country.
Fernandez will serve 15 years of parole after being released and will be required to register as a sex offender.
“This sentence underscores the severity of the sexual abuse crimes the defendant committed against children,” said First Assistant United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada. “Thanks to the diligent work by our law enforcement partners, the defendant is no longer a danger to the community. We will continue to work together to protect our youth from child predators.”

Delzotto for the FBI Las Vegas Division. “We must protect the children in our community from the actions of sex offenders like Fernandez, who abused four Native American children on the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony and two others.
