Detectives seek additional victims after arrest of repeat sexual predator | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey

A sexual predator with a decades-long history of violent crimes is back in custody, and detectives believe there may be more victims who have yet to come forward.

Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 63-year-old Verwayne Alexander, a registered Florida sexual predator previously convicted of multiple felony charges—including kidnapping and sexual battery—in cases dating back to 1988, when he raped a British tourist, and 1989, when he was on bail and beat his pregnant girlfriend, and raped a second woman.

In 2020, DNA also linked him to a separate 1981 rape case, according to court records.

According to deputies, on March 24, Alexander was driving a gray 2019 Chevrolet Trax in the 1000 block of Ingraham Avenue when he approached a woman under the pretense of asking for directions while engaging in indecent behavior.

Investigators say that although an arrest has been made, there may be other individuals who encountered Alexander under similar circumstances and have not yet come forward.

Authorities say he later went to Lake Ida Dog Park, where he parked and continued the same behavior while watching people at the park.

An arrest warrant was obtained by the Delray Beach Police Department, and Alexander was located and taken into custody on April 2.

He is currently being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on four counts of indecent exposure.
