As reported by Bleeping Computer, the German democratic socialist political party, Die Linke, has been targeted by the Qilin ransomware group, which claims to have stolen sensitive party data and is threatening to release it.The cyberattack occurred on March 27, with the party confirming a network compromise shortly after. While Die Linke stated that its membership database was not affected, attackers reportedly aimed to publish internal party data and personal information of employees at the party headquarters. The Qilin group, described as Russian-speaking and financially and politically motivated, publicly claimed responsibility on April 1, adding Die Linke to its victim list. The party believes the attack may not be coincidental and could be part of hybrid warfare tactics. Die Linke has notified German authorities, filed a police complaint, and is working with IT experts to restore systems.Source: Bleeping Computer
