GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) — A tip from a resident helped the George County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) track down an accused child predator in New York.

Officials said that on December 15, 2025, a George County citizen reported a possible case of child exploitation.

Through the investigation, officials said they found that a child and 30-year-old Dylan Taylor met on an online gaming platform. The two then exchanged phone numbers.

Officials said that the relationship escalated to the point where the child was sending “personal images” to Taylor.

Through coordinated efforts between George County criminal investigators, detectives in Glens Falls, New York, and Homeland Security Investigations, authorities secured a search warrant for Taylor’s home and electronic devices.

On March 9, Taylor was arrested. He has been charged with one count of receiving child pornography and is in federal custody, according to GCSO.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Sheriff Mitchell Mixon said the case highlights the positive results that come from strong collaboration between agencies at all levels.

“We will continue to utilize every available resource to protect our children and hold offenders accountable,” Mixon said.
