Jack Oberg, 13, was never allowed on social media. His dad, Tim Oberg, a teacher and the founder of Parkrun Australia, saw the harm in the classroom and decided he did not want his children to have access to that world yet.
Oberg credits Australia’s world-first under-16s social media ban for making this decision more mainstream. He says more parents are joining him in delaying access to social media.
