PRAGMATA: The Hacking Reset Secret Technique to Improve Combat | #hacking | #cybersecurity | #infosec | #comptia | #pentest | #hacker

Hacking is a core component of the PRAGMATA combat mechanics and the most difficult to master. As you juggle between hacking and shooting enemies, you may find hacking cumbersome and distracting, but there is a hidden input trick that completely eliminates hacking downtime. Mastering this “Hacking Reset” tech not only allows you to hack more consistently but also lets you build the Hacking Gauge faster to access powerful abilities more often.

Why Your Hacking Might Feel Slow

A common source of frustration in the first few hours of the game is how hacking and shooting don’t seem to mesh well. Most players naturally hold down the L2/LT/ZL (Aim) button during combat encounters, letting it go only when they require faster mobility. However, holding the aim button prevents the Hacking Matrix from reappearing automatically.

As such, by holding your aim throughout a fight, you are actually limiting your most valuable combat asset, making combat feel much slower and clunkier than it is.

How to Perform the Hacking Reset Tech

The key to taking your PRAGMATA gameplay to the next level is treating the L2/LT/ZL button like a rhythmic pump rather than a static toggle. This Reset Trick bypasses downtime, enabling fast hacking cycles.

How to execute the Hacking Reset:

  1. Hold L2/LT to bring up the Matrix and complete your hack.
  2. Release L2/LT immediately upon a successful hack
  3. Instantly hold L2/LT again during the slowed time frame following a successful hack to force the Hacking Matrix to pop up again with no delay.

By pumping the trigger this way, you remove any frustration from the combat loop. This allows you to stack status effects and hacking damage on enemies in a fraction of the time it takes using the standard method.

While the damage difference between this tech and traditional weakpoint shooting isn’t massive without builds that prioritize Hacking damage, the true value lies in simplifying your mental stack. By focusing entirely on the hacking rhythm, you remove the need to precisely aim at weakpoints (which are sometimes placed on enemies’ sides or backs), allowing you to manage crowded encounters with much less stress.

Why You Need This: Faster Overdrive and Auto-Hacking

Mastering this Hacking Reset tech comes with some additional benefits that will further improve your gameplay.

  • Since you are completing multiple hacks in a short time, your Hacking Gauge will fill up significantly faster. This lets you trigger Overdrive Mode way more often
  • As it fills the Hacking Gauge much faster, this Reset Trick also enables more uses of Auto-Hacking, which requires a portion of the gauge to execute.
  • When Offense Mode is active, hacks deal increased damage to enemies that have been opened. The Hacking Reset Tech turns your hacking into a weapon with a high rate of fire that can melt health bars without using physical ammo.
  • As you are using Hacking as your primary damage dealer, you also have more chances to activate Critical Shot nodes for increased Lunafilament gain.
