A cyber fraud incident has come to light in Mumbai, involving a woman police constable whose phone was allegedly hacked, leading to a fraudulent personal loan issuance in her name.
The constable was unaware of the loan until her salary account was debited with an unexpected EMI.
Investigations revealed that the hack was executed via an APK file shared in a WhatsApp group, allowing the fraudster to exploit her mobile device undetected.
