DANVILLE — State police say some child safety seat inspections are coming to communities across the region in May. The checks run May 11 through May 31 at various locations, with certified technicians helping ensure seats are installed correctly.

State police say most child safety seats are not properly installed, putting children at risk. They encourage parents and caregivers to attend a free check, bringing their vehicle, seat, and manuals.

Here are some of the events:

*  May 11 Shamokin Dam Fire Company 2pm-11pm

*  May 13, Montoursville Fire Department 10am-2pm

*  May 14, In Montour County, the Valley Township Fire Department 6am-3pm

*  May 28, Lycoming County Building on Wahoo Drive, 2pm-7pm 570-560-1361

*  May 29, Central Pa Auto 41 Airstrip Drive, Mill Hall 6am-3pm

*  May 29, Citizens Hose Fire Company, Jersey Shore 2pm-6pm

*  May 31, Stone Works Landscape Supply, John Brady Drive, Muncy, 7am-4pm
