TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) – An Alabama teenager’s message is going viral after sending out an urgent plea on social media.

Will Roberts is battling stage 4 bone cancer. The 15-year-old recently sneaked onto his mom’s Facebook page to send out the plea for anyone who could help him find a cancer drug that could help him.

The teen says he was diagnosed with bone cancer in January 2025 and the chemotherapy isn’t working anymore.

According to the Roberts family, the response has been overwhelming, with the video message receiving more than 70,000 likes alone and being able to hear from lawmakers and Dr. Mehmet Oz.

“They have been absolutely amazing help. If I hadn’t gotten on there and made that video, we wouldn’t be where we are today,” Will said.

Will’s father, Jason Roberts, says the family is grateful for the outpouring of support and they are keeping their faith.

“Dr. Oz has gotten us in touch with the people we need to get in touch with. Only God knows the plan,” the father shared. “We are a very God-centered family, and the fact is we’ve been very honest with Will and his chances are very slim, but with God, anything is possible.”

Will’s dad says they will be leaving soon for Santa Monica, California, for his son to receive the treatment known as DeltaRex-G.

According to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, osteosarcoma is the most common malignant bone cancer found in children and young adults. It accounts for around 2 percent of all childhood cancers.
