Cotter Council to consider cybersecurity policy, $28,000 fire grant | #hacking | #cybersecurity | #infosec | #comptia | #pentest | #ransomware



The Cotter City Council will meet in regular session Thursday at 6 in the Cotter City Hall Council Chamber.
Under unfinished business, council members will consider passage of Resolution 2026-09 to amend the Cotter employee personnel policy to adopt a cybersecurity policy in accordance with Arkansas Act 846 of 2023.

New business includes presentation of an intergovernmental cooperative agreement for planning and consulting services to update municipal codes manuals, presented by Mayor Jeff Braim.

The Cotter Area Chamber of Commerce will also present information on the Trout Trail project, “Where Art Meets the River.”

Council members will consider Resolution 2026-11 to obtain a $28,000 grant for the Cotter Volunteer Fire Department for a generator, air tanks and turnout gear to assist with matching funds for a previously approved resolution.

Additional information items include a $487,000 grant awarded to renovate the North Arkansas Youth Center, grants awarded to the fire department, the city’s approved 2023 and 2024 Financial and Compliance Report, and completion of the 2024 water and sewer audit. Other information items include the Cotter Bridge Ultra Run scheduled for June 13, the next Coffee with the Mayor coming up on June 26, and the next City Council meeting to take place on June 25.
