Nvidia’s Vera BlueField-4 STX protects AI Agents, context memory and file-based data access directly in silicon.
The BlueField-4 STX DPU has DOCA security capabilities to provide zero-trust file access, agent behavior visibility and network-level isolation. DOCA is Nvidia’s Data-Center Infrastructure on a Chip. STX is Nvidia’s KV Cache context memory tiering scheme. BlueField-4 STX enables inline security enforcement across AI workloads, data access, and distributed inference infrastructure. Every agent interaction is continuously monitored, governed, and protected to help prevent data exfiltration, unauthorized access, and unintended agent behavior before threats propagate across the AI factory.
Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said at Nvidia’s GTC event in Taipei: “Agentic AI turns enterprise data into a living, real-time system — and that system must be protected where data moves, where context is stored and where agents act. With Vera BlueField-4 (BF-4) STX, Nvidia and its ecosystem are building secure-by-design storage infrastructure that enforces trust in silicon at the speed of AI.‘’
Co-designed as part of Nividia’s Vera Rubin GPU system, the Vera BF-4 STX storage processor functions as both the CPU and data-path engine, enabling high-throughput data movement, efficient storage access, and secure data services. It has three integrated DOCA security libraries and microservices which run on its processor and memory:

DOCA Vault microservices, which help ensure that only authorized AI workloads can access the right files with the right permissions,

DOCA Argus, which provides visibility into agent behavior and AI workload activity,

DOCA Flow, which helps isolate network traffic and protect sensitive data across multi-tenant AI environments.
With BF-4 STX, AI server and storage systems can can inspect and govern interactions between agents, data and context memory inline, enabling continuous policy enforcement in the AI data path. Nvidia says BF-4 STX delivers runtime threat detection up to 1,000x faster than existing agentless runtime solutions, while enabling network and file access enforcement at speeds of up to 800Gb/s.

Cybersecurity suppliers integrating their enterprise security offerings with Vera BlueField-4 STX include Akamai, Armis from ServiceNow, Check Point, Cisco, CrowdStrike, EQTY, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, TrendAI, Xage Security and Zscaler.
Storage providers building STX-based platforms include Cloudian, DDN, Dell Technologies, Everpure, Hitachi Vantara, HPE, IBM, MinIO, NetApp, Nutanix, VAST Data and WEKA.

Cloudian says Vera BF-4 STX capabilities will be delivered through its HyperStore object storage software. which will support three layers of in-silicon protection delivered through DOCA:

AI-Native Data Protection with DOCA Vault. Granular authorization policies are enforced on every access request, ensuring only authorized AI workloads; agents, inference pipelines, and applications, can reach the data they need. Policies block unauthorized file creation, limit drift, and prevent AI model exfiltration, even if the host OS is compromised.

AI Context Memory Protection with DOCA Argus and DOCA Flow. AI-native KV cache data stored in a new context memory tier is protected through line-rate network segmentation and multi-tenant isolation across agents, tenants, and inference pipelines, without slowing AI performance.

AI Agent Protection with continuous, in-silicon analysis of agent integrity, data access patterns, network activity, and inter-agent interactions. Any deviation triggers immediate containment action, such as blocking network access , before the risk propagates.

Nvidia manufacturing partners AIC, ASUS, Foxconn, Gigabyte, Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT), Supermicro, Wistron and Wiwynn are developing STX-based systems. Global systems integrators Accenture, Deloitte and Worldwide Technology are working with Nvidia and its partners to help their customers implement more secure AI deployments.
STX-based offerings are expected to be available from partners in the second half of 2026. Cloudian says software systems incorporating Vera BlueField-4 STX security features will be available through Cloudian and authorized channel partners, aligned with the broader availability Nvidia’s Vera Rubin GPU platform.
