The operation, announced Monday, June 1, was conducted in Fishkill by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Wappinger along with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, and the Town of Fishkill Police Department.
The first arrests were made on Thursday, May 28, according to police:
- Jaime M. Lucero Giron, 27, of New Windsor, was charged with second-degree attempted rape, a felony;
- Gerber C. Flores, 26, of Newburgh, was charged with second-degree attempted rape and second-degree patronizing a person for prostitution, both felonies.
Police said three more arrests followed on Friday, May 29:
- Edwin Soriano Rutilo, 22, of Hopewell Junction, was charged with second-degree attempted rape and second-degree patronizing a person for prostitution;
- Frank A. Martinez, 21, of Wappinger, was charged with second-degree attempted rape;
- David W. Pawlikowski, 43, of Hyde Park, was charged with second-degree attempted rape and second-degree patronizing a person for prostitution.
Authorities did not release more details about the investigation or each defendant’s alleged crimes.
All five defendants were arraigned in Town of Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center.
Bail was set at $50,000 cash, $200,000 bond, or a $450,000 partially secured bond, according to State Police.
