EMMET COUNTY — Local experts will gather at Independence Village of Petoskey to share insights on evolving senior services and what families need to know.
Community members are invited to attend the Aging Gracefully Symposium, a free senior expo hosted by Independence Village of Petoskey. The community is located at 965 Hager Drive, Petoskey, MI 49770.
The symposium will take place each evening beginning at 6:45 p.m. from Monday, June 8 to Thursday, June 11 at Independence Village of Petoskey.
Changes in Medicare, rural health care and insurance are leaving many older adults unsure where to turn. At the same time, decisions surrounding elder law, financial protection and avoiding scams can feel overwhelming.
The Aging Gracefully Symposium is designed to help seniors and families make informed decisions with peace of mind.
On Monday, June 8, Juan Rhoades from Legacy Medical Group will present “Aging Gracefully.” On Tuesday, June 9, Harbor Brenn from Harbor Brenn Insurance will present “Medicare Updates.” On Wednesday, June 10, Kirsten Korth-White from East Region Munson Healthcare will present “Caring for Our Communities: Navigating Change in Rural Healthcare.”
On Thursday, June 11, Ben Harpe from Law Offices of Dan Harris will begin his presentation on “Elder Law Planning” at 6:45 p.m. Sheriff Matt Leirstein from Emmet County Sheriff Department will begin his presentation on “Senior Scams” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at Independence Village of Petoskey.
