Guardicore Segmentation and NVIDIA DOCA-enabled BlueField-4 STX bring real-time, workload-aware enforcement to protect agentic AI systems, data, and infrastructure at line speed
Akamai is expanding its collaboration with NVIDIA to integrate advanced Zero Trust security directly into AI factory infrastructure, targeting the fast-growing ecosystem of agentic AI workloads.
According to the companies, the partnership brings Akamai Guardicore Segmentation to NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX storage architecture, powered by the NVIDIA DOCA software platform. The integration is designed to embed security into the infrastructure layer itself, protecting data, context memory, and autonomous AI agents operating in high-performance environments.
The approach enables workload-aware segmentation and real-time monitoring of AI behavior while enforcing security policies in silicon, minimizing impact on GPUs, CPUs, and storage performance.
“AI factories are becoming critical assets that must be designed for containment,” said Ofer Wolf, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Security at Akamai. “By moving workload-aware segmentation onto NVIDIA BlueField-4 STX and DOCA, we are enforcing Zero Trust at the speed of AI workloads themselves.”
Kevin Deierling, Senior Vice President, Networking at NVIDIA, said the integration brings Zero Trust directly into the infrastructure fabric, helping control how AI workloads communicate at scale and improving enterprise data protection.
The companies said the combined system is designed to eliminate the traditional trade-off between performance and security in AI environments. Akamai Guardicore Segmentation provides continuous visibility across hybrid environments, mapping how workloads and data interact across cloud, data center, Kubernetes, and edge systems. NVIDIA DOCA and BlueField-4 STX then enforce segmentation policies in the data path at line speed.
The integration enables containment of compromised workloads by limiting blast radius while allowing the rest of the AI factory to continue operating uninterrupted.
Akamai Guardicore Segmentation with NVIDIA BlueField integration is expected in the second half of 2026, while broader deployment with NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX is expected in the first half of 2027.
