SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP)– A 70-year-old sex offender was arrested for disturbing a birthday party in Comer Cox Park on Sunday.
On June 7 at approximately 3:24 p.m., Springfield Police responded to a call at Comer Cox Park about a sexual offender disrupting a birthday party.
Officers spoke with Ivory C. Molton, 70, who admitted to being a sexual offender and ‘always being in this park.’
Molton was searched in SOS/LEADS, which confirmed Molton was a sexual offender. Molton was searched in the Illinois Sexual Offender Registry, which revealed him as a sexual predator with a victim under 18.
Molton was placed under arrest for being a sexual predator in a park and transported to the Sangamon County Jail.
