Apple adds AI-powered video analysis to home security cameras #AI

Washington, June 14 (SANA) Apple unveiled new artificial intelligence features for HomeKit-compatible security cameras, expanding its push into the smart-home market with tools designed to make video footage easier to search and analyze.

The company said the new capabilities will allow users to automatically identify and describe events captured by cameras and locate specific footage using natural-language searches.

Apple announced the updates during its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), according to technology news website The Verge.

The company said the features are powered by its latest AI technology and are designed to help users find clips involving specific people, objects or activities without manually reviewing long recordings.

Apple also said the updated system will support live streaming and recording in up to 4K resolution. Video data will be processed through encrypted systems to enhance privacy and reduce reliance on external data-sharing, the company said.

The announcement comes as major technology companies compete to expand their presence in the fast-growing smart-home sector by integrating artificial intelligence into connected devices and services.

Apple has increasingly positioned privacy as a key selling point for its smart-home products as it seeks to compete with rivals including Google and Amazon.
