PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (WWBT) – County officials in Prince George say a potential data breach affected some of its systems late last week.
Officials say once they discovered the security breach they called law enforcement.
“We have successfully restored the vast majority of county systems and services and are grateful for the extraordinary efforts of our internal IT staff and external technology partners. Their expertise, preparation, and around-the-clock work have been instrumental in restoring operations and supporting the county’s recovery,” Kristen D. Pudlow, Interim County Administrator, stated in part.
County officials say 911 services another other emergency services were not interrupted.
An investigation is ongoing, and no further updates are expected unless “significant developments occur or additional services are restored.”
