I don’t think anyone I know waited until they were 16 to join social media.

Most people just typed in a birthday that got them through the door and moved on. Over time, it became one of those internet rules everyone knew was being broken. But now, governments are deciding that’s no longer good enough.

Australia has already banned social media for under-16s. The UK is now following suit, while countries like Canada and the UAE are considering similar restrictions. Are governments right to intervene when social media platforms can’t enforce their own age limits?
