A security alert in Co Derry has ended after police had been warned about an explosive device.
The Foreglen Road in Dungiven had been closed on Sunday while police conducted searches after the claim the device had been left in the area.
A police spokesperson said: “While a thorough search was carried out and nothing sinister was found, I would ask any members of the public travelling in this general area to remain vigilant and to report anything at all suspicious to police immediately on 999.
“We will now work to find those responsible for this incident and anyone with information which could assist us with our enquiries can contact officers on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1477 for June 28.
