Mauritius govt prepares cyber law framework
The government of Mauritius plans to introduce new Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Regulations to safeguard critical information infrastructure (CII), ITWeb reported. After the framework’s enactment on 01 June, designated CII operators have a twelve-month window to achieve full compliance. There are strict requirements for identifying and securing vital national networks, with non-compliance carrying severe penalties, including fines of up to MUR 2 million and a maximum of 25 years in prison.
