LoughTec, which was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in the town, provides cyber security services to organisations across a range of sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, construction and professional services.
The new roles will include Security Operations Centre (SOC) analysts, senior security engineers and account managers, offering what the company describes as high-quality career opportunities in the growing cyber security sector.
The jobs announcement comes as the company looks to expand its presence across Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, targeting industries where cyber security is increasingly seen as business-critical.
Chief Executive Officer Sean McDermott said the expansion reflects both market demand and the company’s long-term ambitions.
“Our ambition is to grow our footprint across Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, focusing on organisations that increasingly recognise cyber security as a business-critical requirement,” he said.
“These new roles are about investing in people as much as technology. We are creating opportunities for talented individuals to build rewarding careers in cyber security while helping organisations across the UK and Ireland become more resilient against an increasingly complex threat landscape.”
LoughTec’s growth is supported by its proprietary “Assess, Remediate, Protect” framework, which is designed to help organisations strengthen their cyber resilience through a structured and continuous approach.
The expansion has been backed by Invest Northern Ireland, which has offered £90,000 of support towards the creation of the new roles.
Ethna McNamee, Head of Regional Business for the Western Region at Invest NI, said the investment highlights confidence in the local area.
“LoughTec’s ambitious growth plans are a strong vote of confidence in our local talent and the Fermanagh and Omagh District area,” she said.
“This investment will strengthen the local economy by supporting a locally owned business to expand its export-focused cyber security services, while creating high-quality employment opportunities.”
She added that the project would help build on the region’s growing capabilities in IT and digital services, contributing to the development of a strong technology cluster in the west.

“We have worked with LoughTec over several years and are pleased to continue that partnership, supporting the company to scale and access new markets while creating good jobs.”
Mr. McDermott also acknowledged the role Invest NI has played in the company’s growth to date.
“Support from Invest NI has been an integral part of our growth journey over the past decade,” he said.
“In 2018, it helped us create six jobs to kickstart our growth, and its Leadership Programme has helped further develop my capabilities as CEO as we move into this next phase of expansion.”
