Telangana: Cybercrime Victims Urged To Use Official Portal For Refund Claims | #cybercrime | #infosec

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has advised cybercrime victims receiving SMS alerts or notifications from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) about refunds to submit claims only through the Money Restoration Module (MRM) on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.

Bureau Director Shikha Goel said the MRM enables seamless restoration of money lost in cyber frauds after verification by law enforcement agencies and banks. Victims can log in with the mobile number linked to their complaint, complete OTP verification, select the eligible complaint and bank account, upload PAN details if required, review refund details and submit the request online. Verified refunds will be credited directly to the bank account after completion of legal and verification procedures.

Goel cautioned against sharing OTPs, passwords, bank credentials or personal information with anyone claiming to expedite refunds. She warned of fraudsters impersonating police officers, bank officials or government authorities, and clarified that no fee is charged for filing refund requests. Citizens may seek assistance from the TGCSB helpdesk at 8712665600 between 8 am and 8 pm, approach their local police station or contact the investigating officer handling their complaint.
