Deputies investigated the incident after a complaint was filed Monday regarding a man who volunteered at Pawleys Island Community Church in proximity to children. They later discovered he had violated probation tied to a 2023 sexual exploitation of a minor conviction stemming from a crime in 2020, according to sheriff’s spokesman Heather Pelham.

Perry was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services.
