WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. — The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with a child predator decoy operation.

On May 30, Wagoner County Investigators conducted an undercover operation posing as a 15-year-old on several online dating platforms.

According to Wagoner County officials, the suspect allegedly made contact with the decoy and engaged in sexually explicit conversations after being told the other party was 15 years old.

Investigators allege that a meet-up was arranged during the conversation with the decoy.

According to officials, the meeting was arranged at a McDonald’s in the 3700 block of East Dearborn Street in Broken Arrow.

Once the suspect arrived at the meeting location, law enforcement personnel arrested him without incident.

The suspect was booked into the Wagoner County Detention Center on charges of Lewd Acts or Proposals to a Child and Facilitating Sexual Conduct With a Child.

The investigation was part of a multi-department effort from the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office including investigators, deputies, and specialized units.

“The safety of our children is our top priority. Our deputies and investigators work tirelessly to identify and stop individuals who attempt to exploit minors. Thanks to the professionalism and dedication of our team, we were able to safely apprehend this suspect before any harm could occur. We urge parents to stay vigilant and monitor their children’s online activity,” said Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott.

At this time, FOX23 is choosing not to disclose the suspect’s name or image as charges have not been formally filed.
