BATH, N.Y. (WETM)—A national group that tries to catch predators in the act says it caught a Bath man twice with video and audio evidence.
Predator Poachers baits predators by using fake online accounts set up to look like it belongs to minors.
The group says it found explicit photos, video calls, and messages involving people it believes were underage from a Bath man.
The group also says this isn’t the first time the man has communicated online with young girls.
“In 2022, we caught an individual named X attempting to go meet up with who he thought was an 11-year-old girl at the park in Bath to have sex with her, and while we’re talking to her, he admits that that was his intention and he also admits to receiving child pornography,” says Alex Rosen, the Head of Predator Poachers.
This year, the group says the same man is messaging the same fake account and sending inappropriate pictures to it.

“We approached him a few days ago at the laundry mat, and he admits that he sent all these messages; he admits that it was his penis, and he also admits to talking to other children on Snapchat from the ages of like 12 and up and getting nude,” says Rosen.
At the time of publishing this article, the man has not been prosecuted.
18 News reached out to District Attorney Brooks Baker to find out details about the prosecution and hasn’t heard back yet. We will update the story if we hear back.
Bath Police Department released a statement regarding the situation:
“In part the Village of Bath Police Department is aware of a viral social media posting made by Predator Poachers in regard to an incident that occurred in the Village of Bath on July 19. The suspect was identified and an investigation ensured. This is an ongoing investigation and charges are expected. The Bath Police Department warns against misinformaiton that may be spread online in regards to the status of this case.”
