Due to the “third-strike” sentencing structure, McVeytown’s Zachary Keiser will spend his life behind bars after authorities say they found child pornography.
MIFFLIN COUNTY, Pa. — A Mifflin County man has pleaded guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material in a third-strike conviction that will result in a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced.
36-year-old Zachary P. Keiser, of McVeytown, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a felony count of possession of child sexual abuse material following an investigation by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.
Under a plea agreement, Keiser will be sentenced to life in prison without parole. He is scheduled to be formally sentenced on Oct. 22.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, Keiser was previously convicted of sexually assaulting children in 2009 and 2013 and served prison sentences for those offenses. In 2019, a sentencing judge deemed him a sexually violent predator, and he was required to register as a sex offender.
“The third-strike sentencing structure is in place in Pennsylvania to protect communities from repeat offenders like Zachary Keiser,” Sunday said in a statement. “Prior convictions and registration requirements have not changed the behavior of this proven child predator, so society — children specifically — must be protected.”
Investigators received a tip in 2025 and traced child sexual abuse material to Keiser, according to the Attorney General’s Office. Agents executed a search warrant at his home in September 2025.
The case was investigated by the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.
