Police took note of several posts in Facebook and Instagram accounts linked to the student protests that allegedly contained abusive and profane content.

The Hyderabad Cyber Crime police have registered cases against Meta India head Arun Srinivas and several Facebook and Instagram accounts over allegedly morphed and AI-generated posts targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi that were circulated on social media during the recent Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest against the alleged NEET paper leak.
The cases were registered following complaints filed by S. Aravind Reddy, a businessman, and T. Saikiran Goud, a Telangana BJP activist. The complainants alleged that while browsing Instagram they came across multiple morphed and digitally manipulated videos and images portraying the Prime Minister in an obscene, derogatory and misleading manner.
According to the complaints, the posts were accompanied by comments containing abusive and indecent language directed at the Prime Minister and others depicted in the content. The complainants alleged that the material appeared to have been digitally altered or generated using artificial intelligence and was widely circulated on social media platforms.

They further claimed that such content had the potential to spread misinformation, incite public unrest, outrage public decency, defame public figures, disturb public order and promote hostility among different sections of society.
Police also took note of several posts and comments linked to the student protests that allegedly contained abusive and profane content. An investigation is underway to identify those responsible for creating and circulating the material. No arrests have been reported so far.
