The full trailer for the new crime thriller “Primetime” is here, and it’ll have you doing a double take when you hear Robert Pattinson’s voice.

Pattinson stars as “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen, and the second you hear him say “Have a seat,” you’re transported back to when the show was at its peak.
The logline for the film is short and simple: “In 2006, “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen sets out to make television history.”

Things definitely lean towards heavy dramatization in the trailer, with Pattinson’s Hansen and a producer, played by Merrit Wever, pushing to both legitimize and sensationalize their coverage at the same time.
“We’re gonna be bigger than ‘Lost!’” Hansen shouts in celebration when the show is moved to a primetime slot.
We also see an actor, played by Skylar Gisondo, struggling with playing a potential victim, worried he’ll be a “bad person.”

“What you’re doing is more than acting. You’re cleansing the world of an ancient evil,” Hansen assures him.
“To Catch a Predator” ran from 2004 to 2007 and only aired 20 episodes but has remained a major cultural touchstone and reference to this day.

The show was canceled in 2008 following the controversial death of Rockwall County assistant district attorney Bill Conradt, who killed himself in 2006 as Texas police and the “To Catch a Predator” crew entered his home with search and arrest warrants. Conradt had chatted with the show’s fake child but had not traveled anywhere to meet them. Conradt’s sister sued the show and ABC’s “20/20” also conducted an investigation into the incident.
“Primetime” is in theaters September 25.
