A 60-year-old Dearborn Heights man faces felony charges after Oakland County Sheriff’s Office investigators say he attempted to meet someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl after communicating online.
Bradley Kyle Martin was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Oakland County Jail following the investigation. According to authorities, Martin sought to meet the individual he believed was a juvenile in Highland Township.
The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office authorized two charges against Martin: one count of Using a Computer/Internet to Commit a Crime, a 10-year felony, and one count of Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes, a four-year felony.
Martin was arraigned in 52-1 District Court, where Magistrate Richardson set bond at $75,000 cash/surety with no 10 percent provision.
Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard urged anyone who encounters suspected child exploitation or online predatory behavior to report it immediately to law enforcement.
“We have zero tolerance for predators of children,” Bouchard said. “Anyone that has information about a person targeting a child should contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately in such situations. We will investigate and prosecute individuals involved in predatory activity to the fullest extent of the law.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
