Another local business fights off an online attack Thursday. Woodhaven Lakes said on Facebook they caught and quickly stopped a ransomware attack which was encrypting files on their on premise storage devices. Initial analysis said the attack was limited to locally stored Microsoft Office files and documents with no breach to the Property Owners database and information. The affected files are backed up offsite, so Woodhaven Lakes believes recovery of these files will go smoothly.
Woodhaven Lakes is analyzing the attack and has begun remediation and recovery. While Wood haven believes the attack was limited, the company says it must slowly bring all services back online to determine they are safe and no further threats from the attack remain in the network.
Woodhaven’s General Store is up and running. The aim was to have the Service Center back online Friday. As of Friday, phone lines were down and assessment payments in-office could not be made. They can be made online. Recplex is open and currently is only accepting cash. Woodhaven will continue to update their residents as services are brought back online.
