The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) will host its third Cybersecurity Awareness Month Conference on 29–30 October 2026, bringing together financial sector professionals, technology companies and other stakeholders to discuss cybersecurity and digital resilience.
The CBE 3rd Cybersecurity Awareness Month Conference 2026 will be held at the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Headquarters in Addis Ababa, with CIO Africa by dx5 serving as the event partner.
The conference forms part of CBE’s annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month activities and will focus on strengthening awareness and preparedness as financial institutions expand their use of digital technologies and services.
Seyoum Damtew, Vice President of Information Systems Security at CBE, said during a press conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, that the bank is committed to building a secure and resilient digital ecosystem while expanding digital financial services.
He noted that the growth of digital transactions has also increased cybersecurity risks, making stronger security capabilities and greater awareness necessary across the financial sector. CBE has therefore used its annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month programme to promote cybersecurity awareness and encourage stakeholders to strengthen their ability to prevent and respond to cyber threats.
The 2026 conference will mark the third edition of CBE’s institutional Cybersecurity Awareness Month Conference. The bank said its partnership with CIO Africa by dx5 will give this year’s programme a broader platform and facilitate engagement among stakeholders across the financial and technology ecosystems.
The two-day conference is expected to bring together financial institutions, fintech companies, cybersecurity professionals, technology providers and other industry stakeholders to engage on issues affecting the security of digital financial services.
CBE has also invited stakeholders working in the financial and technology sectors to participate in the October conference as the bank continues its efforts to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and resilience.
