Florida Surpasses 2000 Child Sex Predator Arrests | NewsRadio WIOD | #childpredator | #onlinepredator | #sextrafficing

(Tallahassee, FL) – Florida’s Attorney General putting child sex predators on notice today. AG James Uthmeier says the state arrested three more offenders including a middle school teacher surpassing the 2000-arrest threshold for the year.

Uthmeier says this is not light stuff…”This is some of the most grotesque sex abuse content of little kids and animals. This is not a white van driving around the neighborhood looking to kidnap a little kid in his yard. This is happening in the backs of bedrooms on cellphones and computer screens.”

Uthmeier adds that one of the three arrested is Cape Coral middle school science teacher Graham Freeman.

He says the school district acted quickly to remove the teacher away from any student contact. Uthmeier also he reminds parents to know where your children are and what they are doing online. And make sure your child knows he or she can come to you for help.

He says today’s milestone comes on the heels of 116 people arrested in “Operation Relentless Summer,” a two-month investigation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. He says he hopes FDLE can help arrest 10-thousand predators next year.

He says Florida is first state to bring back death penalty for sex offense against a child and vows the latest offenders will face maximum prison time
