SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. – A Sacramento man was arrested by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday as part of an child predator operation.
According to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Trevor Adam Diercks of Sacramento began communicating online with an undercover detective from the Major Crimes Unit on July 24.
Authorities say that Diercks believed he was talking with a 14-year-old girl.
During the communications with the undercover detective, Diercks requested child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and also sent multiple sexually explicit photographs of himself to the detective.
The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office says that Diercks then arranged to meet with the person he believed was the 14-year-old girl for sexual purposes.
As a result of the investigation, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Diercks for the following charges:
- Contacting a minor for sexual intent
- Arranging a meeting with a minor for sexual purposes
- Sending harmful material to a minor with sexual intent
- Furnishing marijuana to a minor
On Thursday, detectives from the Major Crimes Uit conducted an operation related to the investigation. Diercks drove to Shasta County from Sacramento and arrived at the predetermined meeting location, where he was taken into custody by law enforcement.
As a result of arriving at the designated meeting area, Diercks was additionally arrested for 288.4(a)(2) PC.
Diercks was transported to and booked into the Shasta County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office says they would like to thank the Anderson Police Department and the Redding Police Department for providing assistance in the operation.
