NORTHSTATE, Calif. — Two Northern California men were arrested in separate undercover sting operations. Investigators said the suspects believed they were communicating online with a 14-year-old girl and later arrived at predetermined meeting locations in Shasta County, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).
Trevor Adam Diercks, 43, of Sacramento, began communicating July 24 with an undercover detective assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, investigators said. Diercks believed the detective was a 14-year-old girl.
During the communications, Diercks allegedly requested child sexual abuse material and sent multiple sexually explicit photographs of himself to the undercover detective. He later arranged to meet the person he believed was the girl for sexual purposes.
A felony warrant was issued for Diercks on sending harmful material to a minor with sexual intent, contacting a minor with sexual intent, arranging a meeting with a minor for sexual purposes and furnishing marijuana to a minor.
On Aug. 13, Major Crimes Unit detectives conducted an operation connected to the investigation. Diercks drove from Sacramento and arrived at the predetermined meeting location in Shasta County, where he was taken into custody.
He was additionally charged with arranging a meeting with a minor for sexual purposes.
Diercks was booked into the Shasta County Jail. Bail was set at $100,000.

In a separate case stemming from the same undercover operation, Steven Michael Corbel, 59, of Redding, began communicating July 25 with an undercover Major Crimes Unit detective whom he believed was a 14-year-old girl.
Corbel allegedly requested child sexual abuse material and sent multiple sexually explicit photographs of himself to the undercover detective. He later arranged to meet the person he believed was the girl for sexual purposes, investigators said.

On Aug. 5, Major Crimes Unit detectives conducted an operation connected to the investigation. Corbel arrived at the predetermined meeting location and was taken into custody, investigators said.
He was additionally charged with arranging a meeting with a minor for sexual purposes.
Corbel was booked into the Shasta County Jail with a $50,000 bail.
The Sheriff’s Office thanked the Anderson Police Department and Redding Police Department for assisting with the operations.
