Humble City Council members approved a three-year, roughly $158,000 agreement with Blue Iron Technologies for the continued usage of the company’s cybersecurity platform.

The details

Council members approved the agreement during the council’s Aug. 13 regularly scheduled meeting.

City Manager Jason Stuebe said the agreement will serve as a three-year renewal of the city’s existing Varonis Data Security Platform software licensing, maintenance and support services to maintain the security and integrity of the city’s information systems and sensitive data.

“This covers us as our primary safety net against malware,” Stuebe said.

What else?

In addition to protecting sensitive information, Stuebe said the software will monitor access to city data, detect abnormal user activity, and support the city’s cybersecurity, compliance and auditing requirements.
