A criminal case has advanced against an EMT and former reserve police officer facing felony charges for allegedly trying to meet up with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl in Highland Township.

Bradley Kyle Martin, 60, of Dearborn Heights is charged with using a computer/internet to commit a crime — a 10-year felony — and accosting a child for immoral purposes, a four-year felony. After he waived a preliminary exam in 52-1 District Court recently, the case was bound over to Oakland County Circuit Court for possible trial. Arraignment in the higher court is scheduled for Aug. 24.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued the charges based on an investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office after the alleged crime was reported by a citizen group that uses decoys to catch online child predators, officials said.

Martin’s court file lists the offense date as May 2.

Martin was booked into the Oakland County Jail on June 22. Bond is set at $75,000.
