ANDALUSIA, Ala. (WDNews) — Seniors will have an opportunity to learn how to better protect themselves from scams, financial fraud and exploitation during the Andalusia Fraud Summit on Thursday, Aug. 27.
The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Andalusia Adult Activity Center, located at 401 Walker Ave.
The summit will focus on educating seniors about common scams and other forms of financial exploitation and ways they can protect themselves.
Speakers are expected from the Alabama Securities Commission, All In Credit Union, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, Senior Medicare Patrol and other organizations.
Admission is free, and lunch will be provided by ACEE.
The event is sponsored by several organizations, including the South Alabama Regional Council on Aging, Alabama Department of Senior Services, Alabama Securities Commission, All In Credit Union, Service Protection & Accountability Bureau, SHIP and Senior Medicare Patrol.
Seating is limited. Organizers are asking those interested in attending to register by Aug. 17.
