The Gurugram police have arrested two men for allegedly murdering their associate by slitting his throat following a dispute over suspicion that he had hacked a mobile phone.
The police received information about the murder in East Rajiv Nagar on August 13. A team reached the spot and found the body of Sujeet Kumar Khanwar, a resident of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, lying on a bed in a second-floor room with his throat slit. Scene of Crime and fingerprint teams inspected the spot.
According to the complaint, the house owner had rented the room to Keshav and another person. On August 13, he went to the room to collect the electricity bill, but nobody answered the door. After opening it, he found Khanwar’s body lying in a pool of blood. A case was registered under the relevant sections of the BNS at Sector 14 police station.
During the investigation, the police arrested two suspects from Nawada, Bihar, on Friday. They were identified as Keshav (30), of Kuhila village in Nawada, and Rahul (19), of Kanikond village in Koderma, Jharkhand.
The police said the deceased worked as a building draughtsman and security guard. The accused were also involved in building-plan work, and the two sides knew each other professionally.
“During interrogation, it emerged that the accused suspected the deceased of hacking the mobile phone of another person associated with the case. On the day of the incident, the accused and the deceased were drinking together when a dispute broke out over an email ID. The argument escalated, and the accused allegedly committed the murder. The accused are being questioned,” a senior police officer said.
