ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – As students head back to class, AAA has some tips to help them stay safe.
Encourage your students to leave valuable possessions at home instead of taking them on campus.
Morgan Dean, spokesperson with AAA, says to remind them to lock their dorm and car doors.
He says you can also check with your homeowner’s insurance provider, as many policies extend to cover students who are living on campus.
“You do want to check that policy to see if there are limits on what’s covered just to make sure,” said Morgan Dean, AAA Spokesperson. “If they’re off campus, investigate that renter’s insurance to make sure that they are covered in case there’s some sort of theft or fire or some other disaster that happens there.”
