Eight men who have been charged as part of a sting operation in Boone County now face federal charges.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office conducted the sting operation the week of June 22, 2026.
The sheriff’s office worked with the Boone County Cyber Crimes Taskforce to seek out online child sexual predators.
Undercover officers posed as a minor female and advertised escort services online.
Eight men, Rollie Pogue, 30, of Moberly, Jose A. Jimenez, 54, of Columbia, Daniel W. Follett, 57, of Columbia, and Rifat H. Apurba, 30, of Columbia, Ethan S. Deimeke, 28, of Auxvasse, Brice L. Morris, 35, of Columbia, and David A. Burres, 32, of Missouri City, Mo., John Binu, 25, of Jefferson City, were arrested during the sting.
According to a release from the Western District of Missouri, a federal grand jury on September 2, 2026, charged Pogue with one count of attempted enticement of a minor, one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor, and one count of committing a felony offense involving a minor while required to register as a sex offender.
The grand jury charged Jimenez, who was in the country illegally, with one count of attempted enticement of a minor and one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor.
Follett was charged with one count of attempted enticement of a minor and one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor. Follett is the former general counsel of the Missouri Department of Revenue.
A federal grand jury charged, Apurba, a University of Missouri graduate assistant, with one count of attempted enticement of a minor and one count attempted sex trafficking of a minor.
Deimeke, an attorney, was charged with one count of attempted enticement of a minor and one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor.
The federal grand jury charged Morris with one count of attempted enticement of a minor and one count attempted sex trafficking of a minor.
Binu was charged with one count of attempted enticement of a minor and one count attempted sex trafficking of a minor.
Burres was charged with one count of attempted enticement of a minor and one count of receipt of child pornography.
