A series of unusual posts appearing on McDonald’s India’s official X account has sparked a debate online after a person claiming to be an intern alleged that their stipend had remained unpaid for months.
The posts, which have since been deleted, identified a supervisor named Amit Joshi and claimed that the intern had not received payment since December 2025. The person also said they managed several McDonald’s Asian accounts and had taken up two additional jobs because of the alleged non-payment.
Screenshots of the posts circulated widely after they disappeared from the account. One of the messages said the intern was working in customer support and delivery alongside their role at McDonald’s. Another said the person was trading memecoins and had been losing money on them, leaving them struggling financially.
In another post, the person claimed they planned to seek community support, alleging that unpaid dues exceeded Rs 60,000.
McDonald’s India had not issued an official explanation addressing the allegations at the time of reporting.

Internet reacts
One user said the episode showed how young workers are increasingly willing to use social media to demand accountability from employers. “A Gen Z who got access to McDonald’s India’s official account publicly exposed the pending stipend since December 2025, named boss Amit Joshi, and revealed that she had to take on extra work while managing Asian accounts.”

Others, however, urged caution, pointing out that the circumstances behind the posts remain unclear. They suggested the activity could have stemmed from an account compromise, an internal dispute or another explanation that has not yet emerged.
